Just disable superuser in app manager and reboot. You should be able to use it.

App manager? Disabled it inside super su pro app, check mark. Didn't reboot afterwards.
    A lot to go through.

Just doing what I did android pay asked for a pin wouldn't take it then rebooted.

If you really think your way will work I might try again when I have time.

Humm you mean click on disable in app manager then reboot?

Historically? Been using Google wallet on rooted and romed phones since release. This is the first time I've had a problem. The OS cant access the secure element that's why it's secure.

I'm thinking since the card wouldn't add at all without unchecking enable super su in super su pro that hitting disable in apps probably won't work either. Not sure if I want to disable it under apps because paying with my phone would be cool to have. But can disabling super su under app accidentally unroot me or brick my phone? Just asking because I had a hard time getting this phone rooted in the first place. My brother in law has a rooted nexus 6 and has none of these issues. It works perfectly for him. Another reason why my next phone will be a nexus. The random hardware and software bugs on this phone with almost no support. Messenger keeps randomly exiting unless I delete all conversations on certain contacts.

I used SuperSU a long tine ago, but seem to remember it only runs on a rooted phone(unlocked bootloader). If so, apparently Google and all credit card companies don't want hacked phones accessing their accounts. I don't root anymore so I could be way off.

Just to be clear... The default DPI is 400 (the ro.sf.lcd_density setting in build.prop), right? I changed it to 400 from 480 and unchecked Enable Superuser and rebooted. Still will not accept any card I try to enter.

Side note: changing to 400 dpi made my icons smaller than they were before and the phone seems quicker and more responsive. Not sure how any of that is related.

No, what you had originally was the default DPI, 480.

I haven't tested it on my OPO, but it's working flawlessly on my Axon Pro. I might have to break out the OPO and test it out. It's rooted, running stock COS 12.1

I've followed blaw2's instructions to a T and having unrooted my phone and reset DPI back to 480, I was able to get a card added successfully. However, once I go back to 400 DPI, I'm not able to add any cards.

Blaw2 hasn't replied (yet) to update if they've gotten Android Pay to work at that default DPI (or at a modified DPI). I'm in China at the moment so I can't test it myself (no NFC here). Has anyone who has successfully added a card to Android Pay on their OPO managed to use tap and pay with a non-default DPI? Would anyone be willing/able to give it a go?

I am on stock COS 12.1. Upgraded to Android Pay after having used Google Wallet with no problems at different retailers (Walgreens, BJ's). Could only upload cards once I reverted back to standard LCD density (480 DPI). Have not managed to get Android Pay to work for payments at different retailers (McDonald's, BJ's). Today at McDonald's the OPO just froze and rebooted. I have a screen lock, so not clear why it's not working, so for those of you with rooted phones, don't get your hopes up too high...

I will check with my banks to see if they need to enable Android Pay on my cards (AMEX and VISA).

That's the same type of issues in having on my stock, unrooted OPO running COS12.1.
I'm fairly sure, given that cos is barely a certified rom that Android Pay is always going to have issues. Google has locked Android Pay down pretty hard to gain the confidence of the retailers and banks.
