    Hi Guys,

Every night I turn off my WiFi before sleep. Morning when I wake up and turn on the WiFi, I see a constant upload of data at about 100kbps that happens. Along with that upload, the phone starts to heat up. Has anyone observed this? I see that Android system is having a lot of data usage and there are a lot of OP processes in the list.

    I am on Beta 17, OP3.
Just want to know is the data upload going to Google or OP?

I'm on beta 17 and I've noticed the Android system using more battery when I'm on LTE. It's fine on WiFi. I do see the, almost constant, upload of data you're talking about when I'm on WiFi. I noticed it because I use internet speed meter. Even with the phone laying still not being used, the internet speed meter shows data moving. I figure it's Google Play Services backing up data. Anyways, I have more battery drain and wake locks when I'm on LTE. I've started using advanced battery optimization while on LTE and that seems to help. On WiFi I don't really have any trouble.

my concern is about the data upload. It anyways consumes a lot of battery. what exact settings you use?

Same , android system eats up the battery on mobile data, compared to WiFi. On WiFi it's ok.

Try advanced battery optimization when on LTE. It's helped me out.

The symptoms you described can also be malware on your phone. Data being used in the background even when off? Phone heats up. Just an FYI. Especially the upload is suspect. You might check it.

Doubt it's Malware. I know it's not in my case. It's Google Play Services backing up data. It only happens on WiFi and I have Google backup turned on. Not Malware for me.

    Here is a solution :
Go to Google Play services application and clear its data and cache.

guys you guys are confusing Android system with play services. I have issue with Android system, the data upload is 1.6GB and for play services it's 98mb.

also how to enable battery optimisation for LTE only?

You can't enable it for LTE only. You just have to go in and turn it on when you're on LTE and then turn it off when you're not. You may want to check and force close the User Feedback app if it's not already stopped. I been keeping it force closed and it's helped my battery. It's been taking a oem log in the background on occasion. I keep getting a oem log file in my internal storage. Go check and see if you have an oem log in your file manager. I did, but since I been keeping the User Feedback app force closed I've not had another oem log file in my internal storage. You'll have to force close it each time you switch from LTE to WiFi though because it starts itself back each time you switch.

I have seen the logs and I remember I had cleaned them up. I use greenify to kill apps. I think I will disable it if possible.

nope, can't disable it. Also what is the harm with advanced optimisation enabled on WiFi?

I think if you'll keep the User Feedback app force closed each time you switch from LTE to WiFi it'll help your battery life and it'll stop those oem logs from showing up. Once you force close it, it'll stay force closed until you switch from LTE to WiFi or WiFi to LTE, then it'll restart. It's a pain but it really does help with battery life.

You can't disable the User Feedback app. You can only force close it.

That's weird. It should not turn on if it's forced. But then again it's a system app. Who knows what code was written to enable it

There is no harm, you just may miss some notifications. I don't use advanced battery optimization on WiFi because I don't need to and honestly since I've been force closing the User Feedback app I've not been using it much on LTE. Before you try advanced optimization, try just keeping the User Feedback app force closed.
