Ok this is driving me nuts!!

I appreciate that the Google ai now handles the ambient light for the screen but it's just not working. It's driving me insane!!!!!

5 out of 10 wake-ups the screen comes on at its darkest level. and just will not move. so I have to keep raising the level myself.

Or in a dark environment it just blasts up to some stupid level that burns your eyes out.

when you pull down the notification bar and look at the bar level. it just does not correspond to the screen brightness. For instance bar says about quarter but it's at its lowest level. or really bright.

I can only assume as I'm having to adjust it around 10 times a day it's got confused.

How to reset the Ai and start again???

Never ever had this issue with a phone before. I'm going to throw the bloody thing!

Because most were before the change over to Google ai. And I don't think it's made any difference. there is something wrong.

I found a webpage explaining how to reset. but can't even find it in the phone.

Already 4 times it's done it tonight since creating the thread. Something like this is so simple yet currently completely intolerable in a £700 phone.

    Just saying.... redundant thread..... hmmmmm

I had a hard time understanding the other user:

Go to ALL APPS, click on the three dots, click on Show System, scroll down to Device Health Services, Click on Storage, Click on Clear Storage, then click on Reset adaptive brightness.
