It's not only a matter of software improvements bud. There's a specific hardware limit that they can't improve which is the smaller pixel surface. I hope that they will improve the camera management, in particular the ISO management but they can't do a miracle

I think Pixel 1 is still eligible for official updates from Google right? <- This is enough reason for me.
2 - Camera on 5t can't compete with your device
3 - Only thing that 5t has and Pixel 1 isn't that 6 inch screen with 18:9 aspect ratio. if it's ok for you don't upgrade. If you want to buy OnePlus device, buy when pixel 1 is not anymore supported by Google

I can't believe how badly you misunderstood what I was saying. I was saying that Pixel has a better camera than the OnePlus 5 which in turn is better than the OnePlus 5T. 6 inch screen or not, the camera of the Pixel is better.

Trust me, the pictures obtained with Google camera and HDR+ are vibrant, not the OP5T. I hope so much that the developer Arnove will make compatible the full Gcam porting also for OP5T

On the screen? We are talking photo quality here. You can make that argument for screen. I'll make the argument that the photo will also look better on my Honor 7X screen. But if I we're looking at two pictures on either the 5T screen, or the 7X screen... One taken by the Pixel, one by the 5T; I will most likely choose the Pixel's picture.

Me too, I have a strong belief about Oneplus philosophy. I believe that Oneplus phones are the best in the market if you consider the price. Each hardware component is premium and on the top.

It's a pity only for the camera, they used a double cam which is useless because the software never use the second cam. With the same money they could have adopted a bigger pixels sensor (maybe also with OIS); in my opinion it has been a wrong marketing choice only to follow the trend of the dual cam.

An odd question, because you have your own set of priorities and requirements.

Personally, I think the 5T is excellent, and the camera (after the most recent update) is also excellent, although I would like optical stabilisation for videos.

For me, the phone is better than current phones at twice the price. Good photos/videos are important to me, but for the 'real stuff', I have a good camera.

My biggest gripe is how slippery the phone is... I've always preferred to 'go commando' with my phones, appreciating the feel of good design in my hand, but with the 5T I *must* use a case to make it less slippery.

I am very happy with my new 5T. No regrets, other than the fact that I would have ordered the Kevlar protective case at the same time (to save shipping costs) if I had known.

Keep in mind though, that the price of the 5T is really, really good in comparison to other phones.

Let me ask this way.... If you had 550$ to spend would you buy a 128gb pixel 1. Or oneplus 5t? I don't want my camera quality to drop dramatically but honestly the smaller screen and tiny 2700mah battery on the regular pixel 1 aren't cutting it for me. So I'm mainly looking at how huge of a drop is the camera and it the oneplus 5t battery life better than let's say a pixel 1 xl?

What do you want the bigger screen for? keep in mind that you can't watch HD video on any OnePlus device, so if the bigger screen is for watching Netflix you should look elsewhere....
