They're not a rumor. There's a scientific explanation for that. Basically, every time you stretch you battery to the limit, the lithium cells loose capacity to store energy. With time, they become incapable of retaining energy.

My 1 year old op2 still lasts an entire day battery. My 3 year old Dell lasted 8h, still had 95% of the original capacity.

No. I plug it in at night before bed and unplug it in the AM. Don't over think this.

Lithium batteries don't exhibit any memory and they also have circuits preventing them from overcharging as well as discharging to actual zero.

Don't think too much about batteries. Recharge to 100% when you can and use it as you like.

Whatever negative effects if any are so small that you won't experience them unless you keep your phone for 4-5 years.

TLDR; enjoy the phone. Don't think about batteries

I dont understand why we have to trust an app but not our phone.. Charge only till 80 & plug back at 20.. Are we paying oly to use 60% of battery.. Forget wat will happen after year or two.. Charge to 100% n drain 99%.. Enjoy d phone.. Don't enjoy d battery apps which s basically a bogus

I charge my phone when it is on 15% to 100%. It's not a rumor to keep your battery between 20 and 80 but It's only 60% and if I'm going to have my phone for 4 years, probably its capacity goes to 60% in that time. so why to rush things from the start when you could enjoy 85 % (or even 100%!) of your phone till then? It would drop to that 60% after some times, right? :p

I like to make sure that my money (or my stuff) has rentability. That's why I preserve my stuff, my money is limited. If you have lots of it, I'm glad, but I don't.
For me, op2 will last at least for 2 more years.

I have the OPO for more than 2 years now and I have always been charging it fully and using it till it's below 5%. It still performs like a champ and I still get 4 hours 30 mins SOT ON AVERAGE. So don't give us that bullcrap about charging a certain way.

Don't worry. It will die before mine, but I don't care. your money, not mine. it's like smoking. it doesn't kill you immediately, but it kills.

P.s. performance and capacity are two different things. Battery doesn't affect performance.

what is the app name ? it is measuring the battery itself or it is only measuring the drain calculated for apps and process because the battery circuit wont let you use the whole battery when your phone switches off there is still aprox 10-20% (depends of the manufacture, Batt capacity, max voltage, atc) of the battery charge present, it is done to prevent from reaching the deep discharge state (voltage drooped under aprox 2.2-2.5V)
another thing is that some of the apps measuring the mAh are affected with your charging cycle and need to be used for several weeks to get some reading near the reality, i check the max charge and how long the batt can halt it. the max charge possible for me is 4.3022V (completely new batt) i can reach only 4.3017V after charger unplugged it can hold the charge for several minutes until starts slowly dropping

Who cares. Do it your way. Everyone has a way of doing things. If you're satisfied with your way, that's good for you. I personally don't care. Statistics and science show that less cycles means the battery will last longer.

I gave that has an eg. You cannot take it historically, but rather in the way that people say "smoking doesn't kill", when in fact kills you faster. You will die, like me, like everything. But you can die earlier ou last longer.
It was a bad eg, sorry for that.
