A potential problem for North American buyers is the P9's lack of 700 Mhz coverage (4G-LTE) used by AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon.

(The Google Nexus6P replacement (due 4th. Qtr 2016) may resolve this problem.)

I would wait for the next Nexus device if I were you rather than going for the P9.

I admire the specs and the look, but only Huawei that I would buy is the 6p or maybe a mate 8

Google usually announces new Nexus phones in late October, together with the formal release of the next version of Android OS.

Possibly more details will be forthcoming at the "Google I/O 2016 Developers Conference" May 18-20 2016.

if the P9 Max was to be available here in the states... and most importantly the band coverage was to work (T-Mobile), a definite purchase to be made

i don't care. huawei is crap to my eyes first, second emui is ugly asfuck, third canada is not supported most of the time. I don't give a damn about huawei especially if it's not a nexus.

Since Google moved away from selling very affordable Nexus phones the only good reason to own one is getting the latest version of Android super quick. I think the OP3 might just deliver the goods and all the better if it comes at an affordable price. If he can't wait, then the Nexus 6p might be a better option but I guess he probably wants something with an 820 processor

bump. i can get this phone for roughly the same price as an OP3 (in euros anyway) now, so I thought I'd boot up this conversation again. Is it worth sacrificing 3gb in RAM for a fancy camera and more pixel density? Discuss.
