I was more hoping someone who received the OP5 early has tried to maximize its capabilities. And I will. I plan on making short films with the OP5 if the video with a stabilizer gimbal is good.

I am wondering the same thing and I think it is possible to do it, unless it isn't something that has to do 100% with the software part, which I hope isn't the case because I want that OTA ^^

EIS is 100% software. The problem is the stabilized a 4k video, you'll need 4 times the processing power to stabilized a 1080p. So even if they can make the software to handle it, I don't know if they have the processing power to handle it. I mean the graphics in these phone struggle just to playback 4k, let alone in real time processing EIS of a 4k recording.

I saw how 4k video stabilization is on the OnePlus 3/3T, but those use OIS >.> EIS in 4K is used by Google Pixel and some others with the SD835 have it and the OnePlus 5 is one of the most powerful smartphones right now. It should be able to at least get stabilization in 4k via OTA (software wasn't ready maybe) but then again, why hasn't the feature been put into the phone already? :C

Well in my opinion the 4K video recording is not usable. It is just a shaky mess. They have to find a solution for this.
Pixel shows how its done properly.

I think is possible. Pixel (with sd820) did, but i really dont like EIS performance at night....
