I'm tried of seeing ads and clicking something by mistake and downloading some random app.
A friend of mine told me to root and run adAway.
adAway requires root and i don't feel comfortable rooting my device because from what i've read, there are security risks and also might encounter update problems.
So i started searching for a alternative that doesn't require root.
    Found DNS66 : https://github.com/julian-klode/dns66
    ( https://f-droid.org/packages/org.jak_linux.dns66/ )

If anyone using this and could share some thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
I'm more interested if it does work and if there are any known issues with it.

DNS66 is good. You AdAway filters within the app.

Without being root, the most recommended free application is: Blokada and the paid application is: Adguard

StopAd is perfect for blocking Ads, It's free and works like a charm. No root or anything

I've been rooted for around 2 years now and as long as your phone doesn't get stolen, I have not been "hacked" or have my information "stolen" or "leaked".
On a positive note, AdAway was a must have and I have not seen a single ad for quite a while now. YouTube Vanced also helps with this for YouTube

The biggest reason for rooting your phone is adaway and youtube vanced!! All ads blocked and clear.
