As most of the upcoming mobiles are having finger print sensor, I don't know why it was missed by one plus in their new model, one plus x. Please share your thoughts.

Well the thing is the opx is only $250 so there saving as much as they can on things that aren't necessary for a mid tier phone.

i could care less about fingerprint sensors lol just use a passcode and don't use the same password for everything, you'll be safe.

It's not really a necessity as long as you keep a good password and change it from time to time, you should be fine.

This was actually answered by Carl himself.
"Just as it happens with the Type C, a proper implementation of the fingerprint sensor would require to make the phone longer and bulkier. We aimed to keep the the OnePlus X as thin and compact as possible."
My personal opinion, I think they made the right choice. Fingerprint sensor is popular these days but I also know some people who don't want it due to privacy issues (more on the paranoid side lol). But yea, the point of the X was to be smaller than the OP2 and that's what they did. Now it would be AMAZINGGGG if they made a slightly smaller version of the OP2 but with the same specs or better, but that would be such a stupid move right after releasing the OP2 lol (plus not sure if they are capable of it).. Maybe next year tho. I think it's not bad for people to have the option of having it and not. OP2 for the fancier power stuff, and the X for the size (the specs really aren't that bad for a 250 dollar phone, dunno if you have checked it out).
For a mid tier phone, I think the X sounds pretty good all around. I just prefer the power of my 2 :p

@rphlfjrd More on my thought if you're interested haha.

No. I'm not. What I am missing is the 18inch crescent wrench that I was using just a while ago. So whoever took my wrench just know this. I will find you, and I will kill you!
This is BS!! I can't even lay down a damn tool for 5 seconds with out some jackass coming along and.............
False alarm, it was laying on the back of the truck. :( Please continue with what you were all doing before I interrupted.
    Sorry™

Fingerprint sensor would have been nice. But again, for this price point, it may difficult.

They wanted to keep the phone small and thin.

There is a concern that the fingerprint sensor data will be harvested by the NSA.
