ghostofcain , Nov 8, 2021 : The question is have you got it, well have you? My understanding was this is being rolled out with android 12, thus users on stock OOS shouldn't currently have this option, certainly I don't.
bupapa , Nov 8, 2021 : Meanwhile I also got an answer from OnePlus support. They told me I could still use Android Auto. I should be sympathetic about this. So I feel vindicated, that's a problem of OnePlus and not only a server side problem of Google.
Dsquared1955 , via OnePlus Community App , Nov 9, 2021 : I think it's available for specific regions only. https://support.google.com/assistant/answer/10217503?hl=en
aseferian , Dec 7, 2021 : Any updates on this? I don't see the "Driving Mode Toggle" in the Google Maps settings. Running an OP9 with Android 12 stable (just released today).
aseferian , Dec 11, 2021 : Sideload what? Google Maps? Have it. But the specific feature we're looking for is inexplicably missing in OP phones.
aseferian , Dec 12, 2021 : It's just a real mystery how Google Maps runs fine on OP phones but doesn't have a feature present in the app on all other phones. Frustrating.
ghostofcain , Dec 13, 2021 : I agree with that but as long as the android auto for phones app continues to work, for me, the situation isn't a bust.
U1652198053790 , May 10, 2022 : Driving Mode appears to be blacklisted by Google for OnePlus phones. If you are rooted and can change your ro.product*.manufacturer to something other than OnePlus you can get it working. I haven't been on a OnePlus ROM since I got this phone as I immediately rooted it and put LineageOS on it. But somebody here who is on a supported OnePlus phone really ought to open a ticket to get this blacklisting fixed. Android Auto for phones simply doesn't work on Android 12 so OnePlus's stupid answer that you can just use Android Auto for phone screens is no longer valid and all that they are doing by having their phones blacklisted by Google for Driving Mode is creating a dangerous situation where people have to fumble with their phones in a non-driving-aware mode and getting distracted and causing accidents.
manson1908 , via OnePlus 8 Pro , May 12, 2022 : Hey guys . So we just stuck with no proper driving app. No Android auto no driving mode . Is there anything we can wait or we just use other manufacturer phones to use as a driving aid. Especially on long trips it's mandatory to have a driving app.. Come on oneplus you got to find a solution.
Arcnai , via OnePlus Community App , May 14, 2022 : I also hope that we will get an update on when we might receive Driving Mode support, as I was really hoping that buying a phone with A12 would get me that functionality. I tried going with a base s22, it had driving mode, but I returned it due to the abysmal battery life and its too small. I managed to pick up the 10 pro on offer, and I'm loving everything about it, except for the missing driving mode! Since it's just a software thing, and even seems to be from Googles side, I'm hoping it'll arrive soon. In the meantime, I can suggest using Google maps (be sure to go into settings and link your music app, to get just a bit of the functionality) or get AutoZen, that works fine too.
