Asus 8 is the latest flagship with a bold move - compact size. Will it go big?

I had used a zenphone very briefly and to be fair, even though the phone had a decent hardware, it's thermals were all around the place with the phone heating up to cook on top of it (quite literally). The UI is stock, but it does have some quirks which some maynot digest well.

I might be wrong and it might have been the issue with the unit I used, but I would wait for a while and see the reviews before suggesting the phone to others.

There are a few other SD 888 phones on the pipeline, and also there are a handful that has already come to the market, so it's always about the budget and the brand value.

Asus laptops are amazingly manufactured, I'm using one and very happy with that.
But in smartphones I'll prefer OnePlus Oxygen os which works well. Very easily this can be recommended to others

No chance! It's no way a big deal to OnePlus Mobiles.
If compact mobile is a trend now, then I admit OnePlus nord would be the best mobile to deal with. 6.44 inch display, 6 Awesome Cameras, SD765G 5g processor, beefy battery, 90 Hz display, 12 gigs of RAM, etc.
I all say this coz I carry one.😁

That's very promising package by any means.

Though I only have 2 problems:

    1. Camera alignment seems odd.
    2. UI is very much near to stock but still needs improvement.

If they cover the issues in next model, I'll definitely consider it as an option. The way Asus is heading towards is very much important because pricing will definitely play a major role. Other than that everything is top notch.

    Great work ASUS. 👏

That's just too small for these times, battery life will be horrible within two years.

IMHO they should have given the SE a full screen make over.

I just got myself a Pixel 4a, it's like it was designed especially for me :)

And that truly is the clearest sign of great design. ;)

    True that ;)

I like simple, minimalistic and functional design. The Pixel 4a does have a metal midframe, the plastic back cover really is just that, a cover.

So it has no real need for a silicone or whatever extra protection cover to make the mammoth sized phones even bigger and hide that silly "Premium" glass and metal sandwich.

One day we'll look back and ask ourselves why we bought into this "Premium" brittleness

Interesting development. Asus mobiles are somewhat mythical as in I've never seen one in real life. Maybe the MVNOs will pick it up now that new LG models are out of the picture.
