This issue doesn't occur everytime, it is quite difficult to reproduce. But other users are also experiencing this issue. Please search google using keywords " headphone-jack-audio-volume-balance-issue"
You can replicate the issue as:
    1) Plug in earphones. Start listening to music via any music app.
    2)Pause the playback.
    3)Press the home button.
    4)Open some other app.
5)Open the music app again and resume playback.
6)Audio becomes louder either on the right or on the left earpiece.

Definitely noticed this in the past week. Was afraid it was a hardware failure. If it's software what should be reverted to fix the issue?

I'm experiencing the same issue, with different headphones, and various apps (Spotify, Netflix...)

    Hoping its only software -.-

Also noticed this in the last week or so, really annoying. Usually goes back to normal after i restart so it seems like a software issue and hopefully it'll get sorted asap

Still there is no resolution to this from Oneplus' side for Oreo. We have to downgrade to Nougat to fix this I guess.

    Hi Damien,
Ohh I would suggest you to do a full wipe and flash the 7.1.1 firmware again, I didn't face it on my stock OOS 4.5.15. I listen to music all the time and use a lot of video streaming apps too. I never noticed it there on Nougat. Perhaps I was the lucky one :p.
Are you using stock rom bdw??

I haven't tested this after upgrading to 5.0.4. I am pretty sure that it is still there as many are experiencing the same.
Did you post this after upgrading to 5.0.4?? If yes then we can hope for a solution in 5.0.5 :)

Yeah, it's still there. I believe they meant that a future update would fix it.
