    I vote for that issue.
It's incredible: 3 mics and the sound is a mess in videos!
I hope that they fix this problem asap..

The plus side is that the Recordings at low volume ar great en clear. Bud i found that when i record some speatch at 1 meter /
    3 feat the audio clipping.

As a audio tech i know what the issu is

Cliping is cous by loud sound ... Duu ;)
To fix this You neef to have controll over the mic gain. If You can bring down the gain the audio won't clip as mutch

A second solution could be some preset compression
whit gain You set the pre amplefi for the mix if You set it to high the audio

On my first Galaxy phone (i9000), I used an app called voodoo sound. It was possible to select recording in loud environments and then would delimit the audio recording. Voodoo sound was, as I remember, an alteration of the original sound chip driver. The stock audio recording quality in loud environments was poor also.

Great you had this...way too much fanboyism floating around here. "It's a phone"...yeah from 2014 ya dopes!
Was victim to this awful distortion last night. Such a shame when the video quality is quite good.

One phone on 44s official, rooted, the other unofficial L rom. Half way through the evening I restored the L phone to 44s, and still had the same issues.

    I've never tried Color OS.

What is the camera difference with Color compared to 44s 'official'?

Yeah, I agree with you. The clipping on the mic is highly unacceptable. First phone I've had, since cell phones were invented and could record video w/sound, that did this.

Being a major component of the phone, it should not have left the manuf without this having been resolved.

Same issue for me, I think the hi level mic is also a problem for Shazam in loud environments...

The only issue for me with that nice phone...

I hope we can dream about a fix :-/ I don't want to change from CM, that was a "for" point for me!

If a rom change fix the problem, CM can fix it too!!! but no answer, no moves...Big community, yes??

Is there an app in the playstore that will let you adjust the gain on the mic. There has to be something on XDA to fix this.
