Audio volume changes itself

Hi, after the newest update to Android 8.0 my op3 has begun to automatically decrease and also increase the volume of Spotify YouTube and musixmatch. If the screen locks or I leave the app the volume starts to change in roughly 5 second periods. The volume is then decreased for about 1 second until it increases again to my actual volume level.
I never had any issues with the op3 but this is really annoying and makes it basically impossible to listen to music or watch YouTube. If the app stays open, then there are mostly no volume problems.
Thank you for any advice you can give me

    Hey,

I am experiencing the same issues ever since the update to Android 8.0 and haven't been able to figure out a solution yet. The decrease in volume also happens when I type (searching in Spotify) as well as the moments that ManUnited123 mentioned already. Really hoping a fix a found soon.

Similar issue here when I'm listening to music through Deezer. Thought it could be my new headphones but they were absolutely fine for a few days end of last week. I then did the OTA update to 8.0 Saturday and have started experiencing the issue you describe. I've tried disabling and removing an Equaliser app I had installed and this made no difference.

Edit: tried clearing the System Cache and Deezer App cache. It seems to have made the problem worse.

There was already a bug for this, for me it seems to be solved when I do NOT have my phone on mute with the slider on the side. When it is in either of the other settings, the volume does not randomly change, only when I put it to "silent" might be a good workaround for the time being.

Thanks sander, switching to do not disturb and then changing the settings so it works like silent mode fixed the problem.

If in Silent mode, and you enable vibrations, the bug is gone as well.
So either Do not disturb or Silent w/ vibrations to get around it.

OnePlus 5T The volume of the media is changing every time, don't know when or why.
This is very disturbing because I use a Bluetooth headset and every time the volume has changed I don't hear anything.

Can anybody explain how to fix the settings ???
In the other replies I did not find a good solution.

    Hi,

I read on Google that it had to do with your headphones and in my case it is true. When the headphones are not connected, I can listen to Spotify, watch Netflix and YouTube without an issue. As soon as I connected the headphones, the volume went crazy again. And when I tried it with my boyfriend's headphones...no issue at all.

Hi, Does anyone have a fix?
    I have Oneplus 5, android 8.0.
It changes it's volume regardless if it's on silent or do not disturb or ring mode. It will bug out on any app. Speakers, bluetooth, or wired, doesn't matter as well. Will keep changing its volume. Clearing cache did not work.

I'm struggling with the same issue.
Here it seems to be a software issue since it desapears if I turn off the system equalizer.
I just bought the phone and the before I updated to the newest android version, I did not notice the problem.
All the methods discribed here did not work for me unfortunately.
Does anyone know any other method?
Otherwise illI need to continue with my equalizer off till some updates...

Not sure if you found a resolution for this but was facing the same problem on my oneplus 6 with Apple airpods. The solution works now and am not facing this volume pitching up and down anymore.

Go to Settings-Sound-Earphone Mode- Disable Bluetooth Absolute Volume.
Now Unpair the bluetooth headsets and repair them.

This should take care of the issue, let me know if it works.

This fixed my issue with volume, thank you!!
OP: This is not an acceptable fix, please fix this the proper way. Having to adjust two sets of volume is annoying to the max.
