since the time I have updated my phone to the latest version my auto brightness is not working. I have to adjust it manually. and when sometimes it does it take so long time to adjust with natural light. not as fast as it use to be earlier.

    Hi,

As quoted by @Liehjan , that's how it works from Pie on. You just have to turn auto brightness on and allow it to the natural light !

Ok now, try it with the non auto version. Settings > display > disable auto brightness > toggle it manually and check if it satisfies you.

android 9 control over auto brightness is completely insane, worst. my brightness level is atleast 20 to 30% higher than what it should be.( when oneplus software controlled it that was working great.

The brightness has always been apart of Android and has nothing to do with OnePlus software.

Google made changes to it and this is nothing new since Pie has been out for a while.
