    Hey guys,

I upgraded recently from the 128 gb OP6T to the 256 gb version and now my backup refuses to run. I've turned it off and on, rebooted my phone, tried to force it with adb, cleared play services cache, checked play services permissions, and wiped the device cache.

Any ideas? Google drive doesn't show why data backed up from the device.

Try deleting the existing backup on your drive.

Did that also. I have another phone handy and tested backup on it (on 9.0) and it works fine. I can press the button and force a backup via the GUI. I'm out of ideas here other than a reset.

This is the first time you are backing up on your new device?

It was setup via a restore and I just noticed after a couple days that they weren't running. It would appears it's never done a successful backup.

Delete and install Google drive again. It helped in few cases.

No dice. I removed the latest update (since you can't uninstall it totally) and reinstalled. I also cleared the data for the app.

Hi everyone, experiencing the same for my OP6T purchased from China.
Tried the ADB route, and this didn't work either.
    When i run:
    adb shell bmgr list transports

no google transports appear, only internal backup transport.
does this mean my OP6T isn't communicating with google?

of note, when I first started up my OP6T, wasn't able to restore my previous android devices' backups. so had to start from scratch.

Hi, I know this sounds silly but did you check if you set it to download over data or wifi?

Think so. there's no apparent option for the google drive backup to be over data or wifi right? but it all looks square to me...

just wanted to say what worked for me on this issue with my 6t. I tried the adb method but that didn't work.

I went to Settings - Apps & Notifications - looked for Google Play Services (not Store) - Clicked on Storage - Cleared Cache - and then Cleared Storage (I selected Clear All Data). It gave me a warning which I clicked thru.

Then the phone prompted me immediately to set my google backup settings again. After that my backup settings were fixed. The Backup Now button worked and things were backing up.

    Hope that helps.

Hello, I have same problem...and sadly despite all above suggestion for a solution I have tried, it does not work for me... have moved from Huawei Mate 20 Pro to OP6T and it was no problem to move all apps, data etc via my Google account/Google Drive to my new OP..but than, to start and make backup to Google Drive from OP dont works..I have done all what is suggested in above comments...
