bad sound quality while recording with the default OP camera app

I was recording a concert last month (Ghost if u know them) in Paris, and I saw that all my 4k videos taken with the default camera app have VERY BAD sound quality, everything is distorted.

But, when I recorded with instagram, everything was fine, the sound quality was, in fact, pretty good.

Does anyone know why it does that ? It's quite annoying...

Nope, on all videos during the concert it was like that and I didn't touch the bottom and top of my phone (apparently I'm not the only one facing this issue here).

Gotta wonder if shooting in 4k mode took up so much CPU that audio got sacrificed, somehow. Did you try recording at less than 4k with the default camera app, as an experimental control? Would be interesting.

I was also thinking about that, next time I go to a concert I'll try to shoot at 1080p30fps to see if it's better !

What resolution/framerate does Instagram recording use?

It was in 640x1340 /30fps (bcse of the screen ratio of the OP6T), so a 720p like

    I see.
So, possibly, much less demanding of system resources.

Btw, I recorded all my videos in 4k/60fps instead of 4k/30fps bcse I noticed that 1080p/30fps and 4k/30fps do not have image stabilisation, is it normal ? There's only 1080p/60fps and 4k/60fps which have image stibilisation.

Odd. What you report is almost the opposite of what happens with OnePlus' latest phones.

I saw that 30fps only has EIS and 60fps OIS but I found that OIS is better and more smooth than EIS (and I have very shaking hands).
