I think I heard somewhere that its slightly bigger then the stock back cover so a case may or may not have issues. Also no idea what a open case is. do you mean a bumper case?

Can be used with any case, it has the same dimensions as the stock backs

That's not true for the size, the bamboo is a little bit thicker. It does fit both my cases but the fit is definitely tighter, almost too tight for my Nillkin case.

You know how the camera sticks out with a normal sandstone cover? Well it's almost flush with a bamboo cover, a little bit inside.

Nope, I'm using 1 now, its thicker, after installing the case, the bulge on the Camera is no longer visible, n my bumper is not usable anymore

So, the thickness of the bamboo conceals camera better and most cases are a very, very, tight fit? I have a Orzly bumper clear case and a Dixtronic Ultra. ( waiting for bamboo invite)

Bumper (the kind without a back like the aluminum bumper) case should be just fine. I can confirm that the bamboo case does fit with the Orzly Fusion Bumper case.

Other cases though? I'm not sure

The Bamboo back is definitely thicker than the Sandstone back. I have the One Plus clear case and it doesn't snap into place like it did with the Sandstone back.

You can fit the case over the bamboo, but because it doesn't click into place it's just kinda loose and moves around a bit. I prefer the bare Bamboo anyway.
