Battery 94% - 5 Hrs left... ???

After upgrading to Lollipop, my battery life has been atrocious. It's not constantly awake like many others are having problems with, but instead it drains really fast when I'm actually using the phone. I'll end up with 2 hours screen on time and 15% before the day ends. I don't understand this.. and it seems that the phone gets hotter than it used to when doing regular tasks. If anyone has insight to this, please help. Thank you very much!

Don't worry @Carl is going to fix this soon. In the meanwhile try Privacy Guard to disable the service which cause battery drain.
If that doesn't fix you can order a couple of powerbanks, OP will say thanks!

Thanks for your reply, but it's Android System and OS that is on top of the list at the moment. I can't disable that, or else my phone won't function properly right?

And... needing to buy powerbanks and spending more money on the company.. almost makes it seem like they did this on purpose... I won't give in :(

For me, 6 hour+ of SOT is common. Try disable google play services, turn mobile network when wifi available, use greenify and uninstall fb messenger as it eat battery like breakfast,of a bodybuilder.

Don't disable the service itself, but disable it's ability to force a wakelock. A few people get serious issues and have to turn it back on, a few have no issues, and the majority will get very minor issues (I got an occasional, if not annoying, error while using Google Maps. Otherwise, there was no issue and Maps would still work).

You can install a Custom Rom, maybe Exodus.
It gave me a much better battery life than Cyanogen OS 12

Which Lollipop build are you using and what process did you use to flash the ROM?

    The first thing
If you charge you phone up to 100% and use it for 10 min as example:
The phone will show you how long you can use it in this way (screen on, etc)
    So 5 h SOT

Better you show us a pic of about 10 percent that we can see which apps are keeping the phone awake
Just try a wakelock detector app

    The second
    What helped for my phone:
Deactivate all the google stuff like G+
I uninstalled them with this app (root required)
