    Hello team,

Please help me with my mobile , I'm a oneplus 8T user and suddenly today i noticed something strange, the battery was fully charged and the percentage dropped from 100-90% in just under 30 from charging while u was not using it. The GPS is off no background apps running, no bluetooth on except my wifi.

    Please investigate this further.

    Thanks and 1618193141234.jpg

No one else have access to your device so it's you who can investigate.

Try using battery monitoring apps. For example, I use AccuBattery !!

Install and make sure to scroll down to give this app all necessary permission as asked on its various tabs/pages.

Allow it to run in background.

You can check what exactly is eating your battery.

If you aren't into technical aspects, one easy method of solve all issue is hard factory resetting the device & then check without installing any app, on this fresh phone software state. What's the idle draining. But beware, factory resetting will delete all device data.

    Hello thanks for the reply.

I believe this might be a hardware issue.

This started happening gradually, it used to be like 100-98 initially and i wasn't bothered much and now it just went to 100-90 without any usage.

I even went and force stopped many applications which run in the background for no reson.

That did nit work. My next action plan was to factory reset and check if that helps.

    Thanks again.

Why did you buy a smartphone?

If you keep killing background apps, your battery is bound to drain more. Because apps will start automatically in the background (many apps are designed to poll system and other events to autostart themselves), and everytime they do so from scratch, they will drain battery, consume CPU cycles and reduce the life of your hardware.

Don't install junk apps like AccuBattery, GSam, BetterBatteryStats, or others that run in the background for no real benefits. These apps create more problems than they solve.

Here are some tips for you:

Wow i mean thank you expert. I work with servers so i know what i am doing.

I don't follow all the suggestions i get on the internet.

I killed the background apps to check if one of the apps might be draining battery , might be a software issue. That was of no luck and yes i ain't stp enough to download third party apps to check the usage of apps. That will only increase the battery drain.

    Thanks and regards.

Oh! I missed the part that you addressed this post to the 'Team', in other words directly to the Developers (your peers)!

As a normal user myself, I shouldn't have intervened. :)
