I noticed it has Li-ion polymer battery not li-ion. What is the diffrence? How shoud i charge the battery? Is it good or bad to charge to 100% and keep charging and to deplete it to 0%?

Both mean the same. It's recommended not to charge upto 100% or let the battery get below 30% to prolong battery life. Try to charge your battery in between when you get time, avoid letting it run out to 0%. Charging from 30% to 90% is best.

Charge as many times as you want, keep between 40% and 80%, never full charge or 0% it.

    Explained by Linus:

Use as you want, charge when you want, discharge as you want, no problem with new battery. I have friends that discharge their battery up to 1% often and no problem, i charge my phone overnight for 7 hours and no problem. Battery is the last problem of phones

My friend too... They use iPhone for 2 years, s9 for 2 years, no problem. I change often and sure for me is not a problem but i've understand that battery is never a problem. If you take care it live 3 years, if you not take care 2 moth less.

Used my op5 for two years, always charged it to 100%... battery life was almost the same as on day1 with the same SOT

Charge all the way to 100%. No damage will be observed

It is the discharging that kills your battery and not the charging. Do not discharge your battery to a level close to 0

Also accubattery is garbage. Uninstall it

Selinux doesn't allow applications to see how much battery is exactly being used. Accubattery has the same amount of battery data as any other user app on the system. Android also doesn't allow apps to run in background unless they keep a persistent notification running. This means that accubattery must constantly keep the system awake just to perform some "measurement" that has no relation with what's actually going on because the kernel won't allow it to read out the actual data

I agree that it actually drains battery to save battery. i mostly use it to tell me when phone is 80%.

What about linus? I know that li-ion battery shoudnt be drained too much.

    anupritaisno1, Jun 27, 2019 :
When your battery is at 80% of it's original capacity what happens when you charge it to just 80%? Your phone shows the percentage relative to the current battery state so you actually charge to just 64% in comparison to the reference battery. On the other hand you'd have 80% in comparison to the reference battery by charging it to 100%

    Do the calculations yourself

    Korothi, Jun 27, 2019 :
Ok so you are saying phone shows percentage of battery rated capacity(3880 for 1+7pro)? Any source why you think so? Because if that's the case you are right.

    anupritaisno1, Jun 27, 2019 :
Nope "the phone shows the battery percentage relative to the current battery state" is what I said

    Start with 3.88Ah

Let's say your battery is at "80% health" as accubattery supposedly claims

    That's about 3.14Ah usable capacity

    Now charge this to 80%
You will charge this to 2.4832Ah

    What is 2.4832Ah to 3.88Ah? It's exactly 64%

In other words charge a battery with 80% health to 80% charge and you actually get just 64% actual usage from that battery

    Korothi, Jun 27, 2019 :
So you are supposed to charge it 80% of its actual health? i dont understand your point. What linus said is keeping the battery between 40 and 80 is good. even if its health is lower.
