Could you post a screenshot? I might be wrong but I think 5.1.3 would be the last stable version for the OP5

Ok, so I was right? Reflash the full zip, so you eliminate some of the issues

    1. Download full 5.1.3 ROM from Oneplus site, download section
    2. Place it in the root folder of your phone (parent directory)
    3. Clear cache from recovery and storage
    4. From system updates, press the cog options from the upper right corner and select local upgrade and choose the downloaded ROM
    5. After installation, clear cache from recovery and storage again.

Ok, guys, I had the same issue, like 2 minutes of work = 1% of battery. Heat-up of the phone and somehow it only was a problem when I hade Wifi or mobile data on. The drain was there even though the wifi switches off when the phone is idle.

I've spent quite some time experimenting - it's been an hour now and there is no drain and no heat with or without internet.

I also noticed a high rate of unexplained data transfer without any new apps. Mind I agreed to participate in the experience and another program of OnePlus. I opted out - a lot less data were transmitted, but it was still sending something occasionally and other symptoms were still there too.

@OnePlus people: guys, there was already a scandal not so long ago about data acquisition, but this did seem like every my step was reported. NOT OK! Also, what are you sending and why so much? My online radio needs less traffic than your programs.
Still, thanks that I could opt out and that actually stopped. But seriously, it seems like you are overdoing it quite a bit.

Next: Checked my running apps! I was a bit paranoid in general, but now I got paranoid a big deal.
I checked all apps manually if they are running and killed the data for all the apps that were not supposed to use it anyway.
That means that the background data - disabled + activating disable Wifi and DataUsage. Note that this could potentially disrupted the work of some apps that I haven't noticed yet. But I'd better be safe than sorry.
I'm still not sure about rare small data transmission, but that could be the browser. I'll check that later.

So, in the end that's what I figured:
I had a camera app active that shouldn't have been and since I Forced it to stop the heat-up stoped as well. I've killed it and disabled all the data for it. I'll be testing it "featured effects" later today.
So check in case that helps.

It's a big shame that Oxygen OS still doesn't allow us to get a list of running apps in one or two clicks. Nor can we disable the auto-restart of an app (why?) Like the Booking.com app is literally unkillable because it will restart after some time.

It is also a shame that we don't have a graph of the data consumption that is interactable like it was in Android 4. WHY?
