how do you find the thread? I'm on mobile so I don't really know how. I'm having draining problems, it isn't that bad, but I still only get 3.5-4 hours of SOT. I'm usually on 50% to 75% battery, and I feel recently got Greenify to help with this problem, and it isn't working too much it seems. I've done a cache wipe from recover and from the settings, along with turning sync off, but it still isn't doing too much.

No Inherent battery draining issue with OS.

Doh! Booting into safe mode disables 3rd party apps, if the draining disappears that means there is no issue with OS but that you have a problem with apps, your app issue can only be resolved by you not a new update.

If the OS is consistent and some people have problems but others do not, then logically it can not be the OS. However, There is not a single user with the same data on their phones. That is the difference. If user x and y both have a glass of water and user x puts a bunch of crap in his water, then complains about the taste of the water, while user y thinks it is good, is it the water's problem or the problem of user x adding a bunch of crap?

The problem is either hardware or software. I barely have any applications on my device but yet I still do suffer from battery drain.

More than likely, it is software. Hardware is all the same. Unless there is manufacturers defect. So the variable can only be software. If you have third party apps that constantly run in the background or at startup, this constantly drains. If you have loaded OTA after OTA, this can cause issues that also lead to battery drain. Do a clean install of the complete ROM from the OnePlus website. Then restore your previously backed up data. This will clear up many issues, then you can further tweak the settings to better optimize your battery life. Do an internet search! There are plenty of step by step videos, tutorials and articles available to help you.

it's the same just different words. Formatting means completely wiping every data, factory reset means wiping everything except media, such as Vic's, Pics, music etc. You can try both, first try factory reset, if it doesn't work format it. I suggest factory reset.

Ok thanks. I'm still only getting like 3.5 hours of SOT so I'll try it, just need a good guide to do it.
