Battery saving mode?

Would you like to have a battery saving mode in your OPO?

  1. Yes, it'd be nice

  2. I don't care

  3. It is just stupid

Well, battery saving mode on GS5, Sony Stamina mode does bit more than reducing brightness, cpu mhz and wifi/data/background sync. They also reduce display frame rate which helps extend battery time significantly! I haven't found any app that can do that on CM roms just yet.

go to about phone, tap build over and over until developer options are enabled, then in settings at the bottom there's a performance menu added. you can set to perfomance, power saving or between. you can also underclock the phone to save a lot of battery if you're not using anything that demands lots of CPU power.

When android L is release battery life will increase with art instead of davik. Also isn't there a built in battery saver in the new Android L ? I can't remember

When my battery goes under 20%, I always just go into Settings>Performance. I change the profile to "Battery Saver" and I put the Max. Frequency down to 1.2 GHz.

As long as I can make it thru the day with out charging I'm happy I throw mine on every night when I go to bed and it usually last me all day long I get home and still have 35% and I'm on my phone all day

Bettery saving mode seems a little pointless. With the toggle switching in the notifications tray in cyanogenmod you get effectively the same thing, and finer control.

Turn off GPS, Lower brightness, WiFi/Data off if you're not using them, hey presto! Battery saving.

there is a performance option where you can choose from 3 profiles - power save, balanced and performance. I presume if you choose power save, this will save some battery power. very similar to custom kernals

I forgot about the kernel scheduling. Though in my experience it makes your phone really sluggish.

with the battery inside you should never need a battery extender mode. I have yet to finish the day with less than 20% and I am mid to high user

I have the Android L preview on my Nexus 7 and I like how you can set a battery level at which it will change to battery saving mode which will turn down your brightness and turns down the clock speed of your cpu I think (it turns down performance). As the OnePlus One will be getting Android L when it comes out, it'll surely get that feature too.

Battery life so far exceeds anything I have owned including the Note 3 so no need for battery saving for me. OP has been providing about an extra hour of screen on time as compared to my Note 3.

Its just a software tweak, so if CM decides that its a good feature for its OPO users, then itll be in there

Even if the phone as a 3'100 mAh battery, when you are in an adventure slaying dragons, you don't always think to bring a cable/wall plug...

Bit silly to not have this feature on any phone :)

There IS something like a battery saving mode. You can activate it in the tiles. Then you can switch between Max. Performance, Battery Saving and Balanced.
But I don't know what's really changing since I have the phone just for two days and still plying around with it.
