150 times per day.... some people use phone more than that per day.

I prefer a bar-style phone with no mechanical parts. Compact is better for me.

Even though front cameras are an essential part of any phones, there are a certain amount of people won't use the selfie camera frequently. For the last two years we can see there are lots of phones with Pop Up Mechanism are are still going without any issues reported. The OnePlus flagship phones when targets for perfectionism on the display department hole punch display questions it's intend. Iam using a Oneplus 7T Pro and when being happy about the display given , the punch hole display the 8/8 Pro stops me from upgrading to 120 Hz Phone.

Nice read, personally I prefer nothing interrupting my rectangular screen but I take punchhole over notch any day.

Ya'll do good work. The integrated camera is definitely better from a durability and functional standpoint. I have not purchased them for that reason. I would purchase the 8. The halo sounds like a sleek, well designed feature.

It seems like a good idea for gamers using joysticks but I wonder how many users play joystick games vs traditional vertical usage. What did the user research say?

Visual hierarchy would make sense that a central division be used to subtly divide the top middle of the screen. Functionally, I wonder how many video streaming app progress bars or games it would interfere with that have menus or functions in the bottom corner. In that case, an adjustable screen area (which I assume is included as a feature like in the OnePlus 6) would end up removing more screen space.

Never had a pop up camera myself because the 7 Pro and 7Tpro had a curved display which I'm really not a fan of but I really like the idea of having an uninterrupted screen. Plus I don't take many selfies anyway so I doubt the pop up would be any hassle to me.

If the phone has got to have a notch, let it be waterfall notch for the sake of it being centered on the screen! The ONLY reason for me not to buy the OP8 is literally the holepunch. I can't stand it being on the side of the screen! If you're gonna have a hole punch at least make it centered, like the Samsung S20 for example - much easier on the eye in that aspect!

Among these three, pop up is best....but i know there is a point comes that if the camera module is moveable than it might not attain water resistant. It would be best both of the things come handy ( that there is a pop up camera plus the phone is water resistant).

Pop-up camera is obviously favourite one followed by hole punch and other shits. I exchanged my previous phone (vivo v15pro) to get Op7pro because both had pop up camera.

I cast my vote to punch hole.. as OP is using it in their latest piece, obviously they would have thought so hard about this.. undoubtedly punch hole is good for many pros and so less cons.. Namastey.. #NeverSettle

My 7T is my first phone with face unlock, it's my new favorite unlock method. The inclusion of the fingerprint unlock is a perfect pairing. Face unlock in the day, finger unlock for the middle of the night. I couldn't imagine the device feeling as snappy with a pop-up camera. The fast response of this phone has me enamored. I would like to see the teardrop in the center be the new standard. My hope would be that the tear drop would be improved with time to the point that it is so small that it hardly intrudes on the screen. Having the divide in the middle is perfect for the way notifications are handled now. System info to the right, temporary notifications on the left. From what I see having the hole punch offset to the left causes the notifications to awkwardly be shifted to the right, not visually pleasant to me. I don't use my phone in landscape orientation enough to appreciate the hole punch being hidden by my left thumb when gaming. You guys have made one heck of a phone with the 7T. I'll be looking at OnePlus when it's time for me to upgraded in a few years. Cheers!

My choice is Punch Hole in display as its trending and you save hardwares.
Can even consider giving Bullets Headphones as bundle.at same price😀😀.

You mentioned Pocket Mode as one of the Pros of Notch.

May I ask where is that feature on OnePlus 7?🙄

Really looking forward to it actually.🙂

You've given a very precise review on them. Only major drawback of Popup is slower face unlock.
To be honest, I can sacrifice that for a fully immersive experience.
