I just ordered the OPO. With no MHL capability, want to get setup for miracast. I do not have a smart TV, just a regular Samsung Plasma HDTV w/HDMI port. There are so many miracast dongle's on the market, none of them have reviews specific to OPO on amazon. I'll list all I've found, which one do I buy? I want the best quality in terms of streaming online video, and mirroring local video files via mx player/bsplayer/etc. Here is the list. Please share your recommendations and experiences. If I'm missing anything here, please share your device model and opinion. Thanks OPO famila!

None. Wait till Chromecast problem ends.

But if you insist then maybe Belkin or Netgear... not sure.

    Chromecast

you can "cast" whatever is displaying on your phone

also, lots of apps have native support for the chromecast so you can stream from individual apps (netflix, google music, watchespn, youtube, etc)

and its not just about streaming from the OPO either, you can stream from laptops and pc's as well.

i just setup a chromecast with my pioneer appradio and now mirror my phone wirelessly.

    oh and its only $35

Buy a chromecast...$30 (£30 from amazon.co.uk for me) is not much money, especially for what you are getting. I've got my chromecast hooked into the back of my Xbox One and if I'm honest, it is one of the best purchases I've made!! :)

From what I've heard, chromecast video quality is not as good as miracast. Is this accurate? I know you're chromecast owners and will defend it to death, but please give me your honest opinion :)

Also, i understand chromecast can stream local content within the chrome browser itself on a laptop, or can I acutally mirror what I'm seeing on my phone? Lets say I want to stream via showbox or popcorn time, can i do that with chromecast?

Some on this forum say chromecast better than miracast for videos, others say vise versa. Is this a settled topic or not? I want the best.

I don't know about the Miracast's quality but the Chromecast is pretty good.

    Also on your second question.
There was an option to cast your screen ( i even used it) but it was removed in a OTA.
You can get it back but you need root for that.
Also the casting option in popcorn time for pc sucks and doesn't work for shit.

    Got any questions? Quote me.

So video quality is pretty good for LOCAL video content, but sucks for streaming online (i.e. popcorn or showbox? I'm really only interested in using this for my cell phone, but sure laptop/pc is a plus

Apparently you wont get touch if you use a chromecast with an appradio, as suggested here
