    what matters to me is ease of use, compatibility with other devices etc, all these at an affordable price. If I have to compare both I need to use both so I don't believe in comparisons.

    Actually it depends on what kind of waterproofing makes sense to you. Oneplus doesn't claim waterproof but the phone will be able to take a walk in the rain and the occasional wet fingers without any issue. I believe the op5 is water *resistant* under the majority of people's usage and won't make a difference between a waterproof or not waterproof phone. There's even some YouTube videos showing the OP5 getting dunked in water 2-3 minutes with no issue.

    Apple specifically excludes Iphone 7plus from warranty if phone is water damaged or has any defect resulting from immersion. so... Why is the IP rating for, appart marketing ?

    Oneplus is more honest in that way:

    they don't tell you the phone is waterproof so you don't take risks, they don't push the cost of certification to customers, yet there is proof that it just as waterproof as other certerfied phones, they don't sell phones on gimmicks that are then excluded from the warranty.

    In camera performance, definitely cannot compare to iPhone7 plus but performance of OP5 is amazing.
    Also at this price OP5 is pretty good

    I would still argue that the OP5 is objectively a better option for almost all people, when you factor in quality for price. OP5 with 128 GB costs 4500 here. 7+ with 128 GB costs 8800. What do you get for that massive difference? Not much, really.

    On build almost every phone you see reviewed the words feels premium are used, poor build quality is almost a thing of the past.
    Its not very difficult to press a sheet of aluminium and spray a coating on it, a glass build is a totally different matter.

Most people are not interested in wasting money for almost nothing. How much you pay for quality and performance is important. IPhone 7 is barely better, but much, much, much, much more expensive.

    In other words, OP5 is objectively a better option FOR ALMOST ALL PEOPLE.
