    Hi 1+community,

I think I have a major problem with my new 1+3 (~1,5 month "old"):

What happened: my phone was suddenly stuck/freezed when checking mails. I switched it off for a reboot but it never came up again. Now I am stuck with a black screen. The phone was not dropped, not exposed to water.

    Already tried:
    • Power button short & power button for 10sec / 20sec ...
    • Volume down & power button
    • Leave it for discharge
    • Charging it over a long time (with original 1+ charger)
    • Connect it to PC (does not recognize the phone)

Nothing worked and I cannot access recovery mode.

What it still does: it just vibrates occasionally when I press power or volume down & power. However, it stays black, no boot logo/splash screen. Very infrequently (maybe every 10th on/off) there is a short blink of a red warning sign, which i was able to record. It says the "battery is too low, charge for a while before..." even when charged for a long time! Start video @ sec.0:14:

The captive buttons do not illuminate but the top LED stays always white (even when charger is plugged in for a long time).

Anyone encountered a similar problem? Already googled and read the 1+forum. Most similar issue is a bricked phone, which i actually rule out as a possibility for my phone... :-(

Thanks for any reply in advance!!!

Does your computer recognise your phone when it is in this black screen mode and you try to turn it on? Make sure you have the right drivers installed before checking if it connects. If it connects then you have a better chance than if it doesn't connect. If it doesn't connect it probably means you are somehow hardbricked and need a replacement unfortunately

Update, I got a remote support session tomorrow:

    Hello [name],

Thank you for contacting OnePlus Customer Support. My name is [name] and I'll be assisting you with your phone is no longer turning on.

Thank you for the detailed information. I am sorry to know about what happened to your phone, sad to say it will no longer qualify for a replacement however we can send it for a repair. But before that, we will have to try to fix it first remotely to see if you can save the hassle in sending your phone for repair.

Please be informed that I have booked you for a remote session on November 2, at exactly 7:00 AM EST since this is the most earliest available time. Please download the files below as this is necessary during the remote session.

During the remote session, a Level 2 Tech Specialist will follow these steps:

    1. Extract the required drivers and certifications from the files below.
    2. Install those drivers to ensure your PC correctly identifies the OnePlus 3.
    3. Restart the computer into Safe Mode and disable driver signature verification enforcement.
    4. Complete the installation of a new OS onto your device.
Your OnePlus 3 will need to be tethered to a Windows machine (Windows 7 or above) while we flash your device. The process will take up to an hour and you will have the option to stop at any point in time. Please be sure to back up your files from your device and that the following files have been downloaded onto your PC.

    Oxygen - https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/Op3/OnePlus3_16_A.07_160606.rar
    Certificates - https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/qc.rar
    USB Drivers - https://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html

Our Tech Specialist only accesses the files and applications on your PC that are necessary for troubleshooting. We do not and are unable to store or disclose any information we have access to during this process. The whole process is done with the customer's presence and can be terminated at any time.

Once you have downloaded the file, please be online 15-30 minutes before your schedule time. The specialist will just send you an email to start the remote session.

For othe rconcern, please let me know and I'll be happy to help or you may also visit www.oneplus.com.

As i said, i am stuck at step 8 / 9, cant boot into system. since you are supposed to follow step 1-9 for method 2, too, it does not provide a solution... but thx anyway.
