Black screen

    During whatsapp call my screen goes black. not able to access anything. I ask the caller to disconnect. Only then my screen comes back to normal.

    its due to the malfunctioning of the proximity sensor. i'm facing the same issue..

    turn on developer options.. scroll down n u will see 'quick setting developer tiles' option.. inside there will be an option to turn off sensors.. enable it and an icon will be added to your scroll down/noti and quick settings menu to turn off the phone sensors whenever u want.. its not a permanent fix.. bt it will prevent ua phone screen from turning blank whenever u listen to a wsap audio or voice call.. hope this helps..
    i think there will be a fix for this in the next update..

    I have this issue with my 8T and the recent update didnt fix it. is there a way to let the developer know of the issue? . This suggestion though temporary works.

    You cannot access developer option with *#808# as it says that option is invalid or not available. Give a correct answer or don't post anything on a forum

    Please do read and check the date of the post you are replying to, it was 1 year 4 months ago when the answer given was correct and relevant to a different OOS build at that time. I would suggest being more respectful in your reply to a post where you didn't read and realise the timeframe of the context it was given.

    I'm frustrated that after spending $1154 at best buy only to see it being priced at $854 within 2 months and the fact that the one plus 9 pro has some sick issue with touch where you literally have to punch the back button in screen many times, and when making calls in phone or WhatsApp the screen goes dead until the other person cuts the call. This is not a phone, it's a dead duck of a phone .. I bought it because of it's features which could beat even the latest iphone. Now I realize why buying an iPhone would be better at that price.
    Ps . My previous one plus phones have all lasted for great many years and never had to regret

    If its only 2 months old and there may be an issue with the digitizer or touch in some way and it can be either software or hardware causing the problem. You may need to consider backing up the phone and do a full Erase All Data factory reset to refresh your current installation of OOS on the phone. If this fixes the issue then it may have been something not functioning in your current installation of OOS.

    If you are not comfortable doing a reset or if the reset doesn't fix the issue, then I would suggest bringing it back to the store and request that they investigate the issue for you. I have never experienced the issue you currently have on the 9 Pro.

    Back to the Best buy store, whether that's online or a physical store. It would be best to contact Best buy directly to see how you would get them to provide support for the phone they sold you.
    They appear to have a support section on their website via the 3 bar menu on the top left.

    How to do settings to avoid black screen issue. If I keep fingers on the screen we can see the screen during call. If I remove fingure it goes to black screen and able to operate untill I close the phone
