Might not he the prettiest or best, but as a first phone/backup phone it would be great.

agreed. the back is borderline hideous, but I think rest of it looks pretty decent. it definitely screams out for a case/cover

Sorry to necro, but just read about this phone the last couple of days. Bummed I didn't see the sale when I did. Makes me sad that a phone like this is priced $100 less than the already affordable OPX but still has bands 12 and 17.

Bhphoto had a special a while back for the Alcatel Idol 3 4.7" for $129 shipled, that was a better deal imo then the BLU. The speakers on those are quite amazing and rival the HTC one for sure. Hardware isn't bad either for $130. They had the bigger brother 5.5" version for $179 at the same time. If I wasn't for the fact I have way too many phones I would of snagged one as a backup.

yeah, i almost bought that 4.7" version at that price, but didn't need a phone. my wife had the 5.5" Idol 3 for awhile and its been pretty great. until she dropped it in the mop bucket. now its not so great. back in the market, wish I had bought that 4.7" Idol when it was on sale. oh well, half the fun is the search anyway...
