    Hi all,

I enabled the AAC audio codec in my OnePlus 5 in the developer options menu while connecting to my Bose Soundlink revolve (supports AAC, I checked). But it reverts back to SBC everytime. Any tips on how to enable it permanently while it remains connected to the speaker?

Bose has good amplified sound, but has a bad habit of hiding its technical specifications in its products, it's hard to know the bluetooth codec, transfer rates, etc.

Bose does that. I specifically asked Bose technical support if it supports any other codecs other than SBC. I was told that it supports only SBC and AAC. But if the device chose the codec based on the quality of audio, then I have no option. Thank you so much.

The biggest concern with AAC is its hugely variable performance between smartphones. Even Bluetooth’s default SBC didn’t see anything approaching this variety between phones I’ve tested. If you’re an Android user, you’re probably better off sticking with SBC, or opting for aptX or LDAC if available.

In all honest, the device has probably selected the better option.
