I drive an Audi A3 and the Bluetooth is buggy as well! Even when it's connected the music I play from my phone either 1) doesn't play or 2) music starts to skip. If that doesn't happen then music plays just fine, but I'm starting to face those issues!

right! I had issues with connectivity as well with Figo. the fix I sought was, after connecting to the car, I go to "car" (that's your car's Bluetooth) settings, uncheck media if its checked or vice versa and enable/disable it.

if it doesn't get recognised at all, I switch off Bluetooth in my phone, remove device from car's list of connected devices, enable Bluetooth in my phone, add my phone and then voila! it works.

for what it's worth, I even updated to the latest firmware of my car's deck software. every other phone just works, like the op said.

+1 to fix this in the coming upgrade please. sucks away my time especially in the mornings before work.

Having same issues when connecting to my motorcycle bluetooth headset (Cardo FREECOM 2) and Toyota CH-R.
Sound is cracking, distorted and plays at about 0.9 the regular speed for some reason

I'm getting cracking and popping while streaming music. I notice it more with lower frequencies (beats, bass, hip hop). It's making me super sad about this phone, and Oneplus. And I really really want to love this phone!

This is my first Oneplus experience and I was totally due for an upgrade coming from a 2014 Moto X Pure edition. So I have a lot to gain by fixing my 5T and not so much by returning it.

    Some things I've tried:
    1. Switching bluetooth codecs. Tried all 3.
    2. Drilling down into app management (Settings/Apps/Application List/menu to show system apps): cleared cache and data for both Bluetooth MIDI Service and Bluetooth Share system apps -- also did for BTtestmode for good measure
    3. Re-paired bluetooth (to prius bluetooth system in this case)
    4. Cleared both caches in recovery mode. The reboots, the reboots...
    5. Attempted to install viper4android module, but failed to get it to work using both TWRP and Magisk. If anyone is using viper4android: I'm wondering if you're having any bluetooth issues.
    6. Turned on App Wi-Fi Multi / Broadcasting Filter in Dev options
    7. Turned on Disable absolute volume in Dev options

Problems with bluetooth show up for me as cracking and popping, especially at lower frequencies.

I'm thinking it's got to be a software problem. But at the same time wondering: if it's a hardware problem will it be covered under warranty? I'm feeling the 15-day pressure. I want this phone to be The Phone.

And of course, feeling like it should be said: every phone has something. Or some things. There's no perfect issue-free phone. But with a strong community, and lots of dev interest, it seems like this could be fixed pretty soon.

    Maybe it's OxygenOS-specific?

Also where's the transparency, Oneplus?!? You know about this problem and are not sharing the info!!
Yes, yes, the holiday sales numbers but what about your reputation as a company?

Even I'm facing the same issue. when I try to connect my phone to the Homda Jazz car audio system it frequently gets connected and disconnected. It happens only with one plus 5 and every other phone works fine.

I had the same issue whenever connecting my Bluetooth to car, to fix I cleared the Cache of Bluetooth in settings. then there was an option on my car radio called initialise and I turned that on, it then stopped the skipping. maybe look for settings on yours and re pair?
