    Hello,

Just like PC / Laptops, all morden smartphones comes with CPU / GPU / RAM etc.

If you may notice, your PC or Laptop has fans & heatsink placed on top of the CPU / GPU. Every work, process or task the system does, puts load on CPU & GPU.

When CPU / GPU works, it generates heat & in case of laptop or desktop computers, heatsink soak the heat from CPU / GPU chips & then a fan blows air to dissipate the heat out.

Mighter & powerful the Computer is, more n more cooling it needs (like water cooling, big fans etc)

Now when you look at any modern Smartphones, they are basically same as a desktop or laptop PC. Just smaller version as they too have CPU / GPU & Flagship devices are using top end very powerful CPU/GPU chips.

So when you are putting load, like gaming, smartphone's CPU/GPU will produce heat. Unlike your computer, there is no big heatsink to soak the heat & fan to dissipate it by blowing air, so by design, your phones back panel & display soaks the heat from the device & comes in contact with ambient air to dissipate the heat.

The back panel or screen is designed to soak heat & dissipate.

    Thanks.
