If you recovered it, then it wasn't bricked ;)

You want see a real brick, boot into fastboot and run the following command:

    Code:
    fastboot erase bootloader
No device is unbrickable and you cannot recover from a brick, what you experienced was a bootloop. ;)

This is the joy of dev, seeing what you can and can not do in the search of perfection. But one word of warning read the terms and condition of the warranty, OP have slipped and good one in there.

the point of the thread is the phone could be recovered without sending it in. unless you do some kind of physical damage to the parts inside some how

No you didn't. You just think you did.

Apparently you don't understand what bricked means. It means the device will not power on. Not that it won't boot, but that it won't turn on a all, no recovery, no fastboot, no bootloader. A phone doesn't have a bios, so if you actually delete the bootloader partition it is unrecoverable, unless you actually take it apart hook it up with JTAG and reflash the chip.

Bricked means the phone won't turn on at all.

So something can happen to this phone (possibly) that it will not turn on? Is there something specific that causes this? Can be done to avoid it AND what would a less-than-tech savvy person do about this?
