such threads used to keep me very busy before. I got somehow lazy lately :D

people get in trouble all the time. the op got so called "sudden dead", one or more system partitions corrupted, usually it's "persist".
I'm glad to help or see others helping each other.
@Gaurav Rohilla is doing very good lately, so I can just sit back and enjoy the "show". :)
said that - yes, these threads can be somewhat entertaining.

for sure it's not much fun to op though.. :)

the msmtool just keeps on running. tried with many other different recovery tools, it just loads only one file in loop. don't understand why is this happening. though I've asked her to arrange a different PC tomorrow. let's see what can be done. pics are on the way..

no,lol. first of all those teamviewer people banned me for using it 3-4 times a day.

ammy admin served for teamvirwer and I took some snapshots of msmtool while running.

No indeed it is not much fun for the OP. In my case I think it´s force of habit. Back when I had 0% knowledge of flashing rooting etc I would lurk these threads,as I found them to be a goldmine of info of what to do and what not to do. Seeing Dax ,Naman et al unbrick phones taught me a lot.:)

I've asked her to arrange a different PC. could you help her out?

Looks like corruption on the storage. A good phone doesn't brick without a reason (only flashing / rooting could brick one). If that's the case OnePlus service center must be called

use one plus live chat system and raise a ticket. I strongly feel, it could be because of some hardware fault. they'll also assist you the same way I did. if any fault is there, they'll identify and guide you accordingly.

phone went dead for no apparent reason in it's virgin state is not a good sign. I guess, the msm tool was trying to write something on the memory, but couldn't because of memory fault. well, it's just my pet theory! I'll try again on her friends PC and cross check that. else, she'd have to be a victim of one plus CS.:D:D

if you need that recovery tool with CM11 in it, instead of ColorOS, let me know. will give you link to my G drive.
my guess would be a bad download of tool and/or OS.

actually, we downloaded 2 different versions of color os. I've used both of them on other's phone's, and they've always worked.

anyway, please give the link to your recovery tool. I'll try with that today.

    thanks

@Gonzo01 Well, as @Gaurav Rohilla already informed you guys it sadly did not work to unbrick my phone.

Maybe I should have mentioned that I wasn't on Stock? I've used a 4.4.4 (Bacon) ROM called... forgot the name, it was pretty outdated I guess since I did not update anything since month..

I've tried the same steps as yesterday on a different computer today, sadly had the same result (that msimage.mbn looping forever). That computer had also windows 8.1 installed.
