Everyone talks about "Always on Displays". OnePlus hasn't added it yet because it consumes too much battery.

So why don't they just include a notification LED using the amoled screen?
It's a shame. And I feel like newer OnePlus phones will have it and 7 Pro won't. (so People start buying new OP-Phones instead of keeping their 7 Pro.)

All it'll take is a software update to add that feature. They have said that it is in the works.

I think that the power consumption is not much related to the size of what's displayed on the screen (if we are speaking about a small dot or the Facebook logo for example), I think that's related to the "always on" itself.
I'm sure that they are working on it.

am a bit shocked my pro 7 doesnt have a notification led, or at least always-on display feature like the pixel... so i dont have to pick up or touch my phone just to check if there's any messages.. its a small yet big thing...

This feature is very much needed, please add a notification light as a part of software to alert users about notifications

I don't think you know how that works...
It was in the software because there was a LED built in the phone.
Now, there is no LED built in the phone.
You can't JUST put shoes on a fish, can you?

Oh yes i can, only the fish doesn't like it :)

But, when i get a message on the phone, i can see 1 time the notification. Just keep that untill the message is read, same as it was with the LED.

    Just to revive this topic.

I've been using MIUI Port 11 on my 7 Pro for a few days now. MIUI has an in-built Always-on-Display.
Even though using this Port and a 7 Pro, the Always-on-Display was using only 1,5% Battery per hour.

I think for people who charge their phones everyday, it is not a big problem (15% in 10 hours). And I have to say that I used a "colored" AoD, so I think with a "black and white" AoD you could even more reduce the battery usage.

Any kind of lighted notification until acknowledged would be awesome. I came over from Blackberry I so depended on my LED notifications. I knew the OP7P didn't have LED but rumors were/are that OP is/will be implementing this type of feature, I took a leap of faith. Love everything about this phone except the number of messages I miss because I don't hear my phone go off. PLEASE ONEPLUS I KNOW YOU ARE SMART PEOPLE AND CAN GIVE US AN ALTERNATE WAY OF NOT MISSING NOTIFICATIONS

Notify Buddy did not work any better than regular notifications and though I haven't tried LED Blinker on my OP7P - it seriously drained my battery on my Sony Xperia. I may try it again though
