    Hi everyone,

In OxygenOS 2.1.2 I've been enjoying flawlessly working Smart Lock based on my Home Location, but ever since 2.2.0 update the SmartLock feature is not working 8 out of 10 times.

    I have tried:
    1. restarting the phone
    2. using different location methods
    3. enabling/disbabling "WiFi background scanning always available"
    4. enabling/disabling SmartLock
    5. enabling/disabling my Home Address
    6. praying
But still I need to manually unlock my phone with fingerprint scanner more often than not.
Anyone experiencing the same? Any idea how to fix this?

I've got the same problem in 2.2.0. I always have to unlock my phone using fingerprint at home, it's really annoying .

always works for me and i use it pretty much all day every day, multiple locations set up.

you sure you're not manually locking it in the trusted zone? it will not smart unlock after that until you unlock it again

No, I'm pretty sure I would have noticed that before I made a forum post.

Also like I've said, it worked flawlessly (like 80~90% success rate) on 2.1.2 and stopped working overnight when I upgraded to 2.2.0 (OTA) (10~20% success rate).

I've done a clean install of 2.2.0 full ROM yesterday. Will report back on how that works out after I've had a chance to observe this for a couple days.

After a clean install of 2.2.0 full ROM my SmartLock is working fine once again.

I suppose some Google Location and/or privacy settings are maybe responsible for this issue. I find those extremely unclear and hard to overlook so...
What I did was: opt out from all the options during Android first-time setup and opt in for all the ones that Google Now offered me on first launch.

So just to make it clear -- my SmartLock works like it did before now, and my battery life seems not affected negatively by all the Google Location / Now / Reporting / Services / Privacy settings... Damn it they make this stuff vague!

There is not "fix" I am afraid. In my experience, this feature seems to stop working within a couple weeks after a clean install for no apparent reason.

I now use Tasker + SecureSettings. Much more reliable and fine-tunable, much safer option as well.

Praying might work if you try hard enough! :) No idea how to fix it though
