Burned battery and motherboard

I left my OP3 to charge OVERNIGHT, original charger and cable. As a result the battery and motherboard burned. What would be the cause? Battery, cable, charging socket, short circuit? I just get an oneplus 7, could I use the old charger or might be a problem?

OP3 was released 3 years ago. Batteries are aging and as all chemical products can become instable.
Anyway, even if there are securities and it's normal harmless, you should try to use fast charge as intended, that is, plug your device for ~30 minutes when battery is around 50%.

Thats the reason havoc os introduced smart battery charging. Ehat it basically does is to restrict the charging after 80% which saves the battery longevity also prevents burnin while charging over night

    Do one thing
Dial *#800# and do the fast charger test.
First do it with normal charger then do with your old charger, if the values are same you can use it.
I also had oneplus 3 and then shifted to oneplus 6t. However I noticed that the new charger has bigger range of voltage inputs than the older one. So I use my new charger only. However, the old charger is used for other devices like bullets wireless and so on. But I suggest you to use the charger that is provided with oneplus 7 only

If same you can use, but when you have a new adapter why to use the older one.

Everything seems to be intact here

    Where's the burn

Burn mean short circuit, is gone

Question is: why do you buy UK charger if you don't live in a UK plug zone?
