    Hey guys,

I recently got my preordered OPO and I was wondering if there as anyway to turn up the brightness of the backlit buttons on the phone. The buttons look great at night, but sometimes during the day I can't see them at all.

    Thanks in advance :)

No, other people have reported issues of this, and there hasn't been a way to fix it since it's a hardware problem.

If you can't see them, maybe use onscreen controls?

I seem to remember the buttons were reportedly brighter in an earlier software release, so hopefully this isnt a hardware issue after all. Put a suggestion in on the Cyanogen forum and see what reply you get.

If you got the newer version they already have the brightness level bumped up, it was worse in the first batch...

I don't believe there is a way to change it, as others have said, because people have complained about it. Personally I like how dimly lit it is. I don't need to see the buttons to know they are there, and that dim lighting of it makes it looks classy rather than flashy, IMO.

Many people have complained about this so I have no idea what @kezheng is talking about. The buttons are very dim indeed. Even turning it up all the way does not do any real justice- but I like it like this.
Go to Settings > tap on Backlight > Adjust Button Brightness and there you go. However, it still is dim as OPO made it this way on purpose. You can also put the buttons back on the screen by tapping the checkbox entitled "Enable on-screen nav bar".

    Good luck.

Go to Settings > Device > Buttons > Backlight and here you have adjustment for "Button brightness" and "Illumination timeout".

I agree, you soon get to know what each one does. There's only 3 :) subtlety is the way to go. Excusing the fact that it a 5.5inch phone!!!!!

What you wrote is basically what I meant. There hasn't been a way to fix it well (turn the brightness up so it's a lot brighter).

Well the update did bumped up the brightness however i recommend you just remember the displacement. i am sure u'll get use to it or else use, either on screen controls or enable pie controls with a 3rd party app/launcher.

I only have option for Timeout, no option for Brightness. Im on 33R though, is this a new feature in 38R? If so then it confirms its a software fix.

They could be a little brighter, but I don't even look at them anymore when I need to press it, so it's not a big deal.
