We have 2 OPO's.
My phone I can make and receive calls without issues from our house.
My wife's however has recently started having an issue where her voice cuts out bad when I talk to her over the phone.
We can both be in the same location (testing signal) and call each other. She can hear me fine but on my end I get a very choppy call and cannot hear the majority of the words she is saying. This does not happen to me when I talk to anyone else. So I can rule out my phone being a problem.
I have checked all the settings on her phone and everything matches mine. Signal strength also looks to be the same as mine. I did boot into recovery and wipe the cache partition. This actually helped it for a bit. I was able to hear here clear for a day. Now it is acting up again.
Any ideas?
Edit: We are both on T-Mobile and running 12.1-YOG4PAS3JL

Sounds similar to the problem I am having too, I just thought my phone was getting old. Basically sound is great on my side, but the person who I'm talking to say's my voice keeps breaking up.
Speaker Mode did clear the problem while I was on the call with the person. (Next fix is probably better it' just I forgot to make change until person mentioned it)
Disabling "Ok Google" from any screen (Settings/Voice/"Ok Google" detection/From any screen), seems to work too for the long run.

Master reset didn't help. 'ok google' disable fix didn't help
The problem as it currently stands:
a. the main microphone volume is very low and voice quality is very low for all programs, including phone, voip (e.g. skype), tape recorder, etc.
b. Speakerphone works fine.
c. Headset works fine.
