Call Recording feature enabled for more countries Oct 3, 2019

    After upgrade to Android 9 it became impossible to record calls with 3rd party apps.
    The only hope is OnePlus call recording feature which is present in OxygenOS. The problem is that it's disabled in most countries. Please, let users decided to enable it or not. I managed to enable it easily with simple adb command but it has to be done after each device reboot.

    Please, make the feature always visible in Call app but let user decide use it or not.

    It's not up to OnePlus, but Google.

    It doesn't show for countries where it's illegal to record calls.

    It goes by your sim card and not your actual location.

    Is Poland no longer part of the EU? My understanding is an inbuilt call recorder may bring the user, and by extension OnePlus ,in breach of GDPR.

    Poland is still part of EU. But gdpr has nothing to do with it. Polish law says you can always record but you can't publish the recordings. If you want the recording to be court usable you have to simply inform the other party that you are recording the call. That's why every marketing, bank call etc. begins with "I am informing you this call may be recorder for statistics, customer experience or else purposes".

    Your using a Poland sim card?

    Regardless it doesn't matter as it's up to Google to enable it.

    Yes. I am using polish SIM. And I enabled it myself by ADB and jOnePlus Tools to make it autoenable after reboot.

    I do not think it's up to Google as other phones like Xiaomi or Huawei have call recording enabled by default in Poland.

    Yeah, in Hungary it's also legal, and before Android 9 it was present, I had a 5T, and now have a 6T and 7

    There are dosens of call recorder apps, I 'm interested in this specific one, because he said it worked for him. I tried, some but it records only if the call is on the speaker

    I believe I know what you are looking for. Don't use third party apps to record calls. Why not use the feature that is built into the native dialer, the call recorder. With this app you do not need to be rooted. There are some minor adjustments that you need to do inside the app, it will enable you to use the native call recorder and when you restart your phone the call recorder restarts too, so that its always on. Good luck guys.
