Funny how headphone volume is too loud while the earpiece volume is too low.

I hate how loud the volume is so I've been using facebook messenger to call and it lets you turn the volume as low as you want.

Same problem, I regret buying Oneplus 5 ONLY because I can't talk with anyone using handsfree.
If this is fixed I would give 10/10 to oneplus, now it's 1 or 2 because the phone is basically defect.

Same here, OxygenOS 4.5.14. Can't talk to people with my headphones... Complained via chat when I bought it. Still no fix for this issue untill now. Can this be a reason to give the phone back?

When using headphones (wired, not bt) the in-call volume is so loud that it almost hurts and I can't use them even with the call volume set as low as possible.

Tried two different in-ear headphones and several calls.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Just had the same experience, but only one call. Couldn't get the volume low enough so ended up with the buds hanging out my ears.

I'm sad to say that the same issue has been around since the launch of the regular OnePlus 5 and we've heard basically nothing from the devs.

I wouldn't expect any help from the support either. Every time I contact them, they say it's normal and just a personal preference.

I'll let you know if I find a solution for the OnePlus 5, maybe it'll work on the 5T as well. However, the only solution so far seems to be bluetooth headphones.

Thanks Estrozix, didn't realise there was precedent for this! For the record, it's perfectly fine playing music, only in-call volume is loud.

As for it being "personal preference"? I don't think infliction of auditory pain during a phone call would be the preference of many.

The 5T is the same, it's absolutely ridiculous how loud this thing is.

Yep, just came here to say the same thing... Just got some new Bose QC25 headphones, and since they have a mic, I tried taking a call... Big mistake!

I thought the volume had accidentally been maxed out, if it stored separate call volume for wired headsets or something. Imagine my surprise when I saw that the volume was already at the minimum possible setting...
