Can you check whether the camera app has storage permission. That may have been revoked, not allowing it to store/save the images

Try disabling, then re-enabling the camera app. Then clear it's cache and data. Reboot your device and see if it works.
Additionally, does it save the images captured by other applications like WhatsApp?

Yes, other Apps are saving data. This happened already twice in two days! I tried enabling / disabling and clearing cache etc. It doesn't work! Softwares to recover deleted files don't help either.

Is there a solution on this problem?
I also noticed that not all photos are being saved & if this remained unsolved I think I will return the product (since this is one of the main points of interest).

FYI for others who encounter this issue...I did a restart of the phone, after clear cache, clear storage of the Camera app, and seems to be working properly.

I will keep monitoring to see if it reoccurs. :>

The above said issue happened to me today. We all take pictures to have memories but OnePlus has failed in this case. I took many pictures of my 10-month old daughter and was happy to see the pics coming out really nice but that happiness didn't last not even for a day. This is very frustrating!!
I've been with Oneplus since years and used 3 models (now OnePlus 8 Pro).
    I'm extremely unhappy.

After the issue was raised in August 2021, why didn't the latest releases couldn't fix this? This is unacceptable.

This just happened to me as well (Oneplus 8 Pro). I see the photo in my camera app preview but I am unable to share it, save it or find the image file anywhere on my phone.
This is a terribly serious malfunction given some of the very important things people use their phone cameras to capture.

Oneplus needs to prioritize this and at least inform users of what the root cause is to prevent major headaches. After many years of being a fan of Oneplus, this is a deal breaker for me. Unless some serious corrective action is taken by Oneplus to restore my confidence, I will be looking elsewhere for my next phone. Such a shame.
