Camera version? It's very possible you installed an APK not meant for your phone.

Is that the version which you got through system update or did you install it via apk?

So you open your Camera app provided by OnePlus, press the shutter button and your screen goes black?
Is it the complete screen or is it only the viewfinder? So do you still see camera UI?

Is it also in other camera apps or apps that can use the camera? For example WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat or the Google Camera Port.

Can you go to the home screen when screen is blacked-out? So does the rest of the phone still work?

I would think that the camera app or the complete camera hardware crashes. Which one it is should be answered by the questions above.

If it's the camera app, deleting the app-data of the app the could fix it.
A reboot of the phone could also fix this problem.

    1. Screen completely goes black.

    2. Even home menu is also not visible. I have to clear all screens to go to main screen.

    3. I tried clearing cache

    4. Even camera is not working in Hike

just a quick one. how come this updated camera version didn't came bundled with the last (10.3.1) update?

No idea, and it's not on the Playstore either. If you check for OnePlus at ApkMirror you will fin many OnePlus apps there that are common to all phones but not available directly for some reason.

Some are region specific and will not work outside the region they were intended for. But the Camera, Launcher and a few others, are latest builds but have to be downloaded manually to update.

I use ApkMirror quite a lot as updates for other apps outside OnePlus can also be downloaded, I get mainly Beta software such as WhatsApp and a few others. Just need to be sure the apps retrieved are compatible with the Phone.
