The wide angle lens in OnePlus 7T has serious issue when we try to capture picture of direct sun the issue is camera doesn't focus at all in direct sunlight. Many of them raised the same concerns but no acknowledge of the issue from OnePlus team.

I don't see any issues capturing a picture of the sun with the wide angle lens. The focus is crystal clear as always!

I just took some pictures with the 7T on Wide Angle to test your concern -

    1582488485223.jpg
Tap Focus on the building ^
    1582488485404.jpg
Tap Focus on the sun ^

If you feel your focus is not appropriate, move the camera around, tap again for focus and it will work.
If you trying to get the sun in top of the frame, remember there is some distortion which will always occur making it difficult to focus around the edges.

    Example -
    1582488775216.jpg
The moon on top of the frame is distorted and not well in focus. That is also because the aperture is f/1.6 and the moon is too far away as compared to the bridge.

We can discuss more if you like.

I am talking about Ultra wide angle lens

Below are the problems I faced when i capture pictures in Ultra wide and also the Wide angle correction is always on in the settings.

    You can in below images

Also panned around and tried to focus many times doesn't work.

Just for some milliseconds it focuses and immediately everything is out of focus nd no use of even tap to focus.

The pictures I shared were shot on the ultrawide lens (wide , ultrawide just words to describe 0.6x zoom).

I can relate to what you are currently facing only when the Super Macro mode is turned on. As soon as I switch it off and tap to focus, the picture is crystal clear.

Please check if you have accidentally let super macro on or not.

I am a US based user with latest OS 10.0.7.HD65AA, and I think you are India based and obviously the OS won't match to mine.

Last thing that you can do is - Clear Cache, Clear Data, Disable camera and re-enable it to see if it gets fixed.

If hundred other users have already shared their concern then why are you creating a new thread for the same?
You can simply share your thoughts there!

Also, if you check, the original thread creator has mentioned that the new update has fixed it, he is just not satisfied! Well, in this world who is fully satisfied with anything!

I have OnePlus 7t pro and my rear camera won't focus automatically and even if I focus it it's not as sharp as before 10.0.6 update hope they fix it soon.

Can you please share some test shots and a screenshot of the camera settings as soon as you open the camera app like this

Also, it will be great if you can share your country and current OS.

I'm on OxygenOS 10.0.7 since 10.0.6 it's been like this and it had "Camera quality improved" in the log but it certainly hasn't.

it does not focus until I click to focus a certain area. but even then the quality is significantly worse then it was on 10.0.5.
I'm on my OnePlus 7T Pro and I'm in The Netherlands.

Thanks for sharing, I can relate the focus issues on my 7T when I turn off the Manual HDR Control, but it is only momentary.

Let's try this first - Camera > Settings > Manual HDR Control. Please toggle it on, it is currently off on your device. There are only 4 icons on the top of your camera (Timer, Aspect Ratio, Flash and Super Macro). Once you turn on the Manual HDR Control, head to the main page and turn off HDR, it will be on AUTO.

Try changing the aspect ratio from full screen to 4:3 and check if the issue still persists.

Last resort - Clear cache, Disable Camera, Re-enable it and restart the phone.

Let me know if any of that works!

I've tried and doesn't work, I'll try the last resort methods tomorrow since I'll probrably fall asleep if I restart it and then my alarm won't go off.

Thanks for the replies & help so far, hopefully tomorrow one of the methods works.
