The images are also distorted. The quality of the images are not even close to the quality of those clicked before the update. The camera performance and the quality of the images have taken a very bad hit after the Oxygen OS 10 update.

and I thought I am just stupid. I saw a lot of videos of the camera and was impressed. But since I have the phone I don't know if I like the quality.

90º rotated maybe? I have this issue, all the thumbnails are rotated and WhatsApp freezes when showing the previews.

Had the same problem with WhatsApp. Had to update the app a couple of times and now it works fine.

I think the physical hardware camera is capable of doing much better performance. The front facing camera suffered much doing the Android 10 upgrade. If you compare to other brands like Vivo and Oppo they have much better front facing.

I think Oneplus can do some improvements in front facing camera as lot of people now do selfie and groupie. Wide front facing as well needs improvement. Take it from how Google Pixel implement their software capability of their cameras regardless of lower resolution camera as compared as what's the trend in the market.

For me, the photo quality was improved (just like they said in the patch notes) BUT now they removed zoom for the front camera in the OnePlus cam app.

I mean I get that the zoom quality isn't really good, but still it would be nice to have for the front facing camera as well.
