yepp, oneplus 5 does have the same issue and even an extra issue where all dng images taken using 3rd party camera 2 api apps turn out to be pink making them useless.

They really know how to satisfy their customers, don't they? :D Maybe XDA could write an article about this, since 3 generations are affected of the same (!!) bug and nothing happens.

I tried to confess XDA to write about it, but... guess it:
Their submission form is bugged too... keeps loading and loading. Tried to submit a bugreport: Same issue. So... ahm... yeah.

I stop bumping, since it makes no sense anymore:

I'm ready to switch my device and never look back to OnePlus anymore. Over and out.

Bug still exists in stable 4.5.0 and is indeed hindering the use of _very_ nice camera apps. Please solve this major issue.

I wouldn't care if stock camera produced nice shots, but the comparison with other apps is disappointing. I really hope that once OP5 issues are solved a solution will be found for OP3 too.

I have a OP 5 and I experienced the same problem.
I wanted to use 3rd party camera apps to make use of metering modes, higher shutter speeds, lower ISO, timelapse, bracketing and other features but I wasn't able to make use of them. The shutter speed for example doesn't go upper than 1/12s on any high ranked camera apps.

P.S. I paid for 4 camera apps and got a refund for all of them... I'm stuck with the default app, it works fine for, does good pictures but it's obvious that with this phone, a lot more can be achieved.

So if this issue with Camera 2 API is from OP3 onward, get your s*hit together and make it work. Or take accountability and confirm that you'll never fix this issue.

If you're using OP (any generation), do the following, don't just browse to the next discussion page:

    1. Install a 3rd party camera app (recommended to be one of top 5 ranked, see youtube or smth)
-> could be for example Camera FV-5 ...
    2. Enter manual mode and modify the shutter speed so that is slower than 1/12 seconds (go up to max .. 30sec or smth)
    3. Take a damn picture! -> How long did it take??

If you set any value for shutter speed slower than 1 sec but the real value does not go over 1/12 (that's the limitation in my case), post a reply.

There are 7+ k views and 20+ replies, no wonder this doesn't get any traction ...
    Do your part!

P.S. Has anyone tried this using a rooted OP? I wouldn't root mine just yet ...
P.P.S I've rooted my OP5 and reinstalled Camera FV 5 ... no change...
