I have read all about the new updates having problems, I just received my OPO and want to know if I can update it yet without having those problems.

Go for it, monitor your battery and your proximity sensor to see if you suffer from the issues, if you don't...Success ! :D

I updated late last week and my battery drains substantially faster now. I read that they fixed it, but I don't know what that means with regard to the update that's being pushed now.

It means that in the next couple days everyone will again receive an update. And it will fix the current problems your having.. As far as everyone that is in the process of updates right now.. There is actually two updates.. An update for 25R and then one for 30O... If you do the 30, that's where the battery drain issues are..

So there's going to be another update after this one soon? I just got my phone two days ago and updated to the latest right away and rooted and installed Franco kernel, so I didn't know there was less battery drain, lol.

I will say it like this.. before update I would get like 1.5 days out of battery before needing charge and I'm a pretty heavy user.. After update there was no way I would make it one day and that was even with turning all proximity stuff off.. so yes very much so on the battery drainage..

You can download it and install manually, I did so too, but the battery life didn't get any better... It got worse

I figured a team such as Cyanogenmod would have been able to look at any changes in their code in the 30O update and fix what the problem was in their latest update easily, but judging by your post, they were unable to do so. Which is strange to me.
