Can we please get some update where we can use the Google dialer!!!! it's so good.

if you haven't used it before, there is additional functionality built-in to the app such as ability to search for places and it's will chuck out the number to the closest store....

Magisk module worked, but not well for me. Lost the dialler UI a few times mid-call, had trouble with dual-sim support, etc.

I did. And my conclusion is that the OP phone app is better in my opinion. Searching for places doesn't have value for me, and the OP version looks better.

Brand new OnePlus user here, having used Nexus devices for 6 years. The lack of the Google Dialer is almost enough to make me return this otherwise fantastic phone :( It honestly feels like going backwards 5 years as far as functionality is concerned. I always swore I would never buy a phone running anything but stock Android. I bought this one because it has a "very light skin with a ton of excellent additional features". Never realized they would deliberately not include the excellent Google dialer, and instead replace it with an antiquated piece of junk.

For those who have never used the Google Dialer on a daily basis (especially recent versions of it), here are some specifics I submitted in a my ticket to OP...
    Oxygen Phone app:
    - No support for Visual Voicemail !!
    - No search bar at top of dialer screen for immediate data input (must press search button, then input). At least add a permanent search bar!
    - Search function only searches contacts in phone
    - On locating the desired contact, I have to open the contact, and select the number (home, work, cell) and tap that to dial
    - Favorite contact tiles are unnecessarily massive
    Google Phone dialer:
    - Support for Visual Voicemail
    - Search bar will search phone contacts but also the web, allowing the input of a business name for example and direct dialing from search results right in dialer)
    - Tapping a contact in the search results directly dials contact (rather than opening contact details)
    - If contact has multiple numbers, the first time calling it will ask if you want to make one number the default. Next time tapping the contact from the search results will just dial.

    GRUMPY OnePlus6 User :(

I have a OnePlus 5T and I am and my phone supports Visual Voicemail. I am on the open Beta, but I thought Visual Voicemail is network issue not a phone issue. My network is AT&T and is supports visual Voicemail.

not a new user here. have being using 0neplus 3, oneplus 5 and 6. but previously used nexus phone until pixel came out expensive.

I do missed the Google dialer for sure. Especially the Caller ID where when there is unknown number calls in that isn't on your phonebook but available on.google. it will tell.you who is it. Which is very convenient

would love if Oneplus team let user choose which dialer to use

+1 for google dialer support. Just purchased the 6T and am very underwhelmed with the OP dialer. It's actually my least favorite part of this phone. No Visual Voicemail, terrible UI. It would just be easier to have the personal option of switching to the Google dialer. I know not everyone is a fan of it, but should that be my decision, not OP's?

+1 for Google Dialer support. Can't get AT&T to enable Visual Voicemail in default state.

Had no idea what I was getting in to when I jumped from iOS to Android, but using 90's style VoiceMail (holding 1 to dial, 7 to delete, 9 to save, or whatever), seriously, not what I signed up for.

Very disappointed since I discovered my 6T doesn't have a dialer that can support Name ID natively on T-Mobile nor does it have native voicemail transcription -- these are both features that my outgoing BlackBerry supported with its dialer (which I think was just the Google dialer).

To be clear, it looks like Visual Voicemail works...although it doesn't seem to actually place a badge on the Phone app icon or provide some other indication in notification bar that voicemails have been left (sure, you get a notification that appears once but no badge or counter...you have to go into the VVM tab to see that you have messages).

You'd think that nailing the phone functionality would be key for a phone. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
