Cannot force LDAC codec in oxygenOS 11 via OnePlus 8 Pro

I recently installed the oxygenOS 11 build on my 8 pro then purchased at set of Sony WH1000XM3 Bluetooth headphones. I tried to force use of the LDAC codec through developer options to make the most of the headphones (and Tidal) but all the relevant settings are either not there or greyed out.

Is it possible that they're not available until the final build is released?

I'm having this issue too. I just received my MX3 and I cannot use LDAC nor other codec such as aptx. I'm very disappointed from this update, it also scaled my display to an orrible dpi set.

I have an 8T on OxygenOS 11 and a WH-XB900N. My headphones can't play LDAC if I change something in the equalizer (Sony's app). If you leave everything on default settings, it will play LDAC.

the only way I was able to connect my sony WH-1000XM4 headphones to my OnePlus 8 Pro with LDAC codec was by disabling the "Connect to 2 devices simultaneously" option from the Sony Headphones Companion App.
Now, it shows the LDAC logo on the app and in the developer's options.
My guess is that all of this is due to a matter of bandwidth. Especially that LDAC is known for being bandwidth hungry.
FYI, The WH-1000XM4 doesn't support AptX while WH-1000XM3 does support it. Sony dropped AptX support in a weird move. I'd say it was to promote its own coded (LDAC) and not pay for AptX support licenses.

Yeah. Only LDAC, AAC and SBC.
Using WI-1000XM2 for size reasons. Same codec here. They don't seem to have that 2-devices option though.
Been looking at WH-1000XM4. A coworker has WH-1000XM3. I'm not really fond of the ear cup size and shape. Guess I spoiled myself with my wired AKG K812.
I'm assuming they calculated that the majority of users buying these products either have LDAC or AAC support in their phones. Who buys headphones for that price range and don't have LDAC or AAC supported by the phone anyways. Maybe the users needing Aptx (or used it in previous gen) was so small that the cost of Aptx was not really worth it.

The multi-device connection support is only available in wh-1000-xm4 and not wh-1000-xm3. I'm not sure how this solution will apply for xm3 headphones.
One thing I found is that, my xm3 headphones show codec as LDAC on Sony app as well as under "developer options", when connected to OnePlus 3t, but when I connect it to OnePlus 8t, I can only have option of SBC codec.

Yes, I had also the same issue of LDAC with Sony WH-100XM4 connected to Oneplus Nord. When I disabled the 'connect to two devices simultaneously', I got the option to choose LDAC in the developer options.
These audio codecs are about bandwidth. When you connect two devices simultaneously, the bandwidth also gets affected. Hence for better bandwidth like in LDAC, you have to use only one device at a time.
    Solved the issue. Thank you

Works now for my 8T with xm3's...You must turn off NFC and Nearby share, then reconnect to the Headphones. Bandwith really is a problem for the phone.

I had the same issue with my 7Pro and my Sony XM3s. I have now fixed this issue by resetting the network, WiFi and Bluetooth.

Disclaimer: resetting this will wipe all the WiFi, Bluetooth devices or networks you've added to your phone, so you will need to pair and add all of them once again to your phone.

    1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access the apps screen.
    2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > System > Reset options.
    3. Tap Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth. Review the info then tap Reset settings.
Note If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
    4. To confirm, review the info then tap Reset settings.

    I hope this helps y'all

Grayed out usually mean there is no support. SBC, AAC, LHDC is what Buds Pro support. LHDC is comming to most recent phones via an OTA.
